Former alderman Anthony Balistreri just does not get it.

After making the children he sexually assaulted have to testify in court and live the ordeal out again, he still going to put them through hell again.

Not having the compassion for the kids and the guts to just admit what he did, he denied everything and then was found guilty by a jury on July 14, 2006 of 19 felonies after a 5 day trial.

On Friday minutes before Balistreri was to be sentenced, he made one last minute ditch to avoid hearing his sentence by informing Judge Donald Hassin Jr, that he wanted to fire his attorney Russell Jones. The court will hear that motion on Tuesday.

Balistreri faces a total of 201 years in prison when he is sentenced.
