Live like a king for a few years

Milwaukee- Where else could you get a free ride, free money, free benefits and not have to work for it?

You sure would not have to look very far if your a Milwaukee policer. Any Milwaukee police officer's that are charged with a crime or discharged is paid until the very last appeal is over. This could take up to two years. During this time they receive all their full benefits as they would if they were on the clock working.

This is not fair to all the good police officer's that put their lives on the line everytime they put that uniform on.

For example the officer's in the Frank Jude case. They now all face federal charges after they have been charged again in federal court. It took the federal courts to do something the state court could not do. All these officer's feel now that the city should pay for them to be represented in court.

All these officer's have been on the payroll since the Jude situation happened, and still remain on the payroll. It could be another year before their federal trials are over.

You have officer's that have been fired for such things as sexual assaults, drugs, assaults, and many other things.

Why should a Milwaukee police officer that is charged with anyone of these make the same amount as other officer's do that have to go put their lives on the line everyday?

Some of the officer's that were witness's for the state in the Jude case were paid to testify at their normal salary. Now some of them that testified have been charged with felonies for being part of the beating of Jude. While they testified that they saw nothing, did nothing to Jude have now admitted in fact they helped beat Jude. These officer's were paid while they were committing perjury.

The law needs to change where any Milwaukee police officer would not be paid until after their last appeal. If they are found to be innocent of the charge then they should get their back pay, not get paid until the end.

There is no law that requires any Milwaukee police officer to return the money he has received if after the last appeal and is found to be guilty.
