Waukesha- A 42-year old West Allis man was stopped and arrested after police said he was in volved in a home invasion in Oconomowoc.

Gary G. Wells was charged with strong-arm robbery and burglary. He also has been charged with resisting arrest after he attempted to run from police as the were questioning him.

According to the complaint, one victim was awakened by footsteps during the night, then was confronted by a man who demanded money. He took her purse and left the bedroom. Moments later, he went into another bedroom where he grabbed a second purse from another woman who was sleeping.

Police were called immediatley and stopped a vechicle in the area that had the head lights off. Wells and another man were in the car when it was stopped.

Police found two purses inside Wells backpack located in the car.
