Harley-Davidson reveals details for 105th anniversary

Harley Davidson will celebrate its 105th anniversary in 2008 with a ride to Milwaukee that will traverse 25 major routes across the United States.

The ride will feature 105 starting points in honor of the Milwaukee-based motorcycle manufacturer's anniversary, which will take place Aug. 28 to 31, 2008. The celebration also will include several exclusive ticketed events, as well as many activities that are free and open to the public.

"Harley-Davidson's 105th anniversary marks another milestone in a long and storied history which began with the creation of the first Harley-Davidson motorcycle in a modest shed in Milwaukee," said James Ziemer, the company's chief executive officer.

The events associated with the 105th anniversary will be centered around Milwaukee's lakefront area and the Harley-Davidson museum, currently under construction in Milwaukee's Menomonee Valley. A special Harley-Davidson exhibit at Discovery World also will be unveiled.

Ticket packages for the celebration are set to go on sale Aug. 15. Information on Harley-Davidson's 105th anniversary will be available starting July 10 at www.harley-davidson.com/105th.
